All you will have in your room when you arrive is your bed, mattress, cupboard, table and chair. Therefore, it is recommended for you to have the following things on your first few nights in Wesleyan:
BANK ACCOUNT
Bank of America is the bank that are used majorly by students in Wesleyan because there’s a store on Main Street and ATM on campus which we can use free of service charge. During and after orientation week, you can open your bank account and get debit or credit cards. Having bank account is necessary if you would like to work on campus because they will directly deposit your earnings into your accounts.

In the US, the major carriers are T-mobile, AT&T, and Verizon. However, most international students use AT&T because it has a store in Main Street. During orientation week, there is an AT&T booth on campus if you want to get a phone, SIM card, or contract. The following information is only applicable to AT&T.
contractAT&T contract users are advised to be in a family group of five. The cost varies according to the phone type and plan. If not mistaken, all iPhones need to subscribe to the 4G plan.
You can also talk to current upperclassmen, and figure out if you are able to join any current family group/replace a graduated senior in the group. |
