exam period
Depending on courses you take, there will be midterms, and/or final exams. Midterms depend on the professors while finals are scheduled by the registrar. You can learn more about the final exams schedule here. There will be a reading period which is usually a few days without classes before finals week.
holiday breaks
Classes still go on during national public holidays that happen during the semester. The ONLY holidays at Wesleyan are:
- Fall Break: Mid October for 5 days, including the weekend
- Thanksgiving Break: November for 1 week, including the weekend
- Winter Break: From Mid December to January for 5 weeks
- Spring Break: Mid March for 2 weeks
- Summer Break: Mid May to End of August
- And during heavy snowstorms if we are (un)lucky
Placement test
Placement exams in math and languages are required for most students and are used to place students in the appropriate classes. The exams can be completed at any point during the summer and can be found in the Moodle system in the electronic portfolio. If you have an AP score in a language, you must also take the Wesleyan online placement test for this language, except for Spanish. Japanese and Hebrew exams are administered on campus in the fall.
transfer credits
Up to 2 Credits from your high school (AP, IB, A level) can be transferred to Wesleyan University graduation credits. These credits would not count as GenEd credits or towards your major. Click here for more information.
