SSN is a 9-digit identification number issued by the U.S. Social Security Admission.
What are the benefits of getting a SSN?
1. Easier identification
2. Filing federal taxes
3. Applying for Connecticut Driver's License
4. Applying for a credit card
Must I have a SSN?
It is not compulsory — you can still open a bank account and register for a phone line without a SSN.
Am I eligible to apply for SSN?
If you are currently working on campus, yes. Please keep your payroll check with you.
