WITHIN CAMPUS
The Wesleyan campus is not too big nor scattered—it only takes about 20 minutes to walk from one end of the campus to the other. Most students walk to class, but you can also consider using a bicycle, a skateboard or even a scooter (not the motorcycle) to get around campus.
To get around the campus safely and conveniently at night, you can catch The Ride, a Wesleyan shuttle van that runs from 7pm to 4am everyday.

within middletown
You can get to Main Street by foot. However, if you would like to travel further than that, you can consider taking the Middletown Area Transit. The Transit takes you to Price Choppers and even Walmart. The Wesleyan University transit stop at Route C is at William Street X High Street, near the Wesleyan Power Plant. Click here for the bus schedule.
You can also drive a ZipCar. ZipCar allows you to rent a car and charges you by the number of hours you rent it. As of 2014, there are 3 ZipCars available on campus: 2 at Parking Lot C (next to Exley Science Center) and 1 at Parking Lot E (in front of Usdan). Please be aware that you need to possess an International Driver’s License to be qualified to drive the ZipCar. If you would like to own a Connecticut Driver License, please refer to the “Miscellaneous” category of this website. Click here for more information.
out of connecticut
These are the usual stations that students go to to travel out of the state:
1. New Haven Train Station*
2. Meriden Train Station (no direct trains to NYC)
3. Hartford Bus Station
To get to these stations, students usually share a cab with other students or get another student to drive them using a ZipCar. For New Haven Train Station, Wesleyan has a weekly shuttle van that travels to and fro the train station. Click here for more information.

TRAVELING VIA AIR
The nearest airport is Bradley International Airport, which is about 40 minutes drive from campus. A taxi ride to the airport would usually cost $65 to $75 without tips. Again, you can use The Ride Board to see if you can split the cab cost with another student or WesCab.
Many international flights arrive at New York airports, especially the John F. Kennedy International Airport. To travel from JFK to Wesleyan and vice versa, international students usually take the Wisla Express, which costs about $80-$90 per trip. The Wisla Express can be contacted at +1 (860) 229-7796. To reduce waiting time, you can try to get more Wesleyan students to be on the same shuttle van as you.

traveling during school break
During all the school breaks (Fall, Thanksgiving, Winter, Spring), Wesleyan arranges buses to go to Bradley International Airport and New Haven Train Station. Usually, Wesleyan also has shuttle buses to go to New York City (Grand Central Station & Penn Station) and Boston (South Station). More information will be emailed to students when the school break is near.
